Pascual Rivera Pimentel Memorial Academy (PRPMA) was founded in 1947 by the late Mr. Marcos Pimentel with nothing but sheer courage and a civic sense of self-abnegation. It was named after a sturdy son of Mr. Pimentel, Governor of Ilocos Sur during the Japanese occupation and was killed by the Japanese on the last days of the Japanese occupation in Ilocos Sur in 1944. PRPMA is a non-sectarian school. It was a corporation registered with Security and Exchange Commission, but later on converted to a non-stock corporation. PRPMA started with the first and second year students’ house in a rented two-story building. The first principal was the late Atty. Librada Quiroligo. She was succeeded by the late Mr. Mateo Quines. On the death of Mr. Mateo Quines, Ms. Angelita C. Cauton took the management. At present, the school is under the management of Mr. Arsenio H. Hezeta, Jr. as the Principal. The school was granted recognition on July 1, 1950 and sent its first batch of graduates on March 31, 1950. The school since its foundation has become a sanctuary from ignorance, a part of hope that lights the sea of satisfaction with a promise of knowledge as years go by, student increased in number. The school takes pride of successful alumni in all fields of endeavor. With heart of hope, the administration shall continue to aim and achieve yet greater conquest for PRPMA has become an instrument for providing quality Secondary Education.

Pascual Rivera Pimentel Memorial Academy, Inc. (PRPMA) is a government-recognized educational institution granted Government Recognition No. SE-019, s. 2002 by the Department of Education, Region I, effective School Year 2002–2003, for the Basic Education Curriculum.

Today, PRPMA continues its commitment to providing quality K–12 Basic Education, fostering the knowledge, skills, values, and competencies of learners and preparing them for lifelong learning and future success.
